7/18/2009 Day 2

7:15 AM woke up to my Jack Russel Terrier barking. He name is Jackie. She’s a year old and she is the younger of two Jack Russell Terriers that we have.

I feel cleaner. I don’t feel bloated like I have for years upon waking. My shoulders are sore from swimming yesterday but my back feels great. It’s great to have Chiropractic in my life.

I drink 2 oz of water

7:45 Chandler and head outside. We are starting later than we did yesterday and it is already 89 degrees out. We walked .20 miles up our street for 4 minutes and 16 seconds and burned 20 calories.

7:50 we start our run. Though it is hotter outside today, the run feels slightly easier. We ran .99 miles today (almost a mile) The run burned 99 calories and we were running for 11 minutes 54 seconds.

8:03 we are walking home. There are 2 joggers in front of us and one of them gets startled. There is a rattlesnake to his right. When you live in Arizona, you are going to see desert creatures. The walk home burned another 17 calories. I consumed 8 oz of water.

9 AM I consume 3 oz of Zrii

9:15 Breakfast like yesterday 3 egg omelet (1 yolk 3 whites) with cheddar and 2 slices of low carbohydrate toast. 8oz of water

12 Noon Just had the Zrii Vanilla Meal Replacement as my second meal. I mixed 3 tablespoons with 8 oz of chilled water. It tastes great. The jury is still out on what I prefer more, the chocolate or the vanilla. I am off to drink 8 oz of water now.

Going to drink 8 oz of water

2:10 PM Ate 4 slices of Turkey breast on one wheat flat bread with a handful of almonds and 8 oz of water

3:55 PM 2 hard boiled eggs (whites only), handful of almonds, 2 strawberries, handful of blueberries, banana, 8 oz of water

4:15 We meet up with may of our Zrii friends at San Felipe Cantina at Desert Ridge Mall. There were about 40 of us there having fun and socializing. Many were eating chips, salsa, cheese crisps. It was very tempting. We were outside on the patio for the entire get together and by 6:45 I was starting to feel a bit weak. I knew I needed to eat.

7 PM salad, with grilled chicken, avocado, pomegranate, Mandarin oranges and Italian dressing. 20 oz of water.

9:25 PM 3oz of Zrii mixed with 8 oz of water and chocolate Zrii meal replacement. 20 oz of water.

7/21/2009 Day 5

5:10 AM I woke up about 5 minutes before the alarm this morning. I have mixed feelings if I am happy about that since it so early.

5:45 AM 2nd day in yoga class. I was a little lightheaded in class today. Still trying to get acclimated to the heat in Sumits yoga studio. Have you ever had one of those love hate relationships? I can’t say that I love being in the yoga class yet, but I can say that when I am done with the class, I feel great all day. I feel like I have accomplished something. I do like taking yoga in the morning and then I have the rest of the day.

I did a Zrii prosperity presentation tonight with Dr. Doug Hassenpflug, a local eye Dr. We had a great time but the time got away from me. I would prefer to eat every 2-3 hours to keep my metabolism spinning. It’s 6 hours since my last meal but I am hungry and I walked into my home and smelled my wife, Angie’s amazing chili.

9:30 P.M. 2 bowls of Chili (shouldn’t have had 2 bowls it was a lot of food, but it sure tasted great), salad and 10 oz of water. 3oz of Zrii

7/23/2009 Day 7

So I am into my 7th day. Time to take pictures and measurements. The pictures definitely show weight loss in my face. (I can think of other areas that I would like the weight loss to show more) The numbers are amazing and very encouraging.

Weight 210.5 lbs

Body Fat 20%

Waist 39 1/2 ”

I have lost 1.5 pounds, 4% body fat and 1.5 inches in my mid line in 7 days.

I have never felt starved or deprived; in fact my diary shows that I have eaten a lot of food.

Here are my goals for this week:

  • Continue to improve in yoga. Increase my balance, flexibility, focus and stamina in the class.
  • Increase my laps in the pool. ( I need to buy goggles today, the chlorine is getting to my eyes)
  • Go to the gym to increase cardio and engage in light weight training
  • Increase my vegetable intake. One of my teammates, Tammy Tolene, a Naturopathic student said she has been reading my progress and pointed out that I am not eating enough veggies. Thanks for the great advice Tammy.

5:10 AM wake up

5:45 AM yoga 13.9 oz of water in class

8:15 AM treadmill 20 minutes walk/run average speed 3.6 MPH, distance 1.21 miles burned 110 calories

Precor Abdominal bench 3 sets of 15 (crunches)

Hammer Strength Ab crunch 10 pounds 3 sets of 15

11:00 AM haven’t eaten yet. The day has gotten away from me. I have been exercising and doing 3 way calls and I haven’t eaten.

11:10 AM large salad, no dressing. (baby greens, chicken, goat cheese, almonds, mango, jicama, cucumber and dried cranberries) 5 oz of water

2:15 PM low fat cottage cheese, banana, almonds, 3 oz of Zrii and 10 oz of water

4:35 PM Zrii Vanilla shake (4 tablespoons this time, it had been 3) mixed with 8 oz of water and then 10 oz of water

7/24/2009 Day 8

5:05 AM I wake up 5 minutes before the alarm

5:45 yoga class I was a bit lightheaded in yoga today. I feel that maybe I pushed myself in the class a bit to hard today and didn’t pace myself

8 AM 3 oz of Zrii, 3 egg omelet (1 yolk) with diced yellow onions and cheddar., 10 oz of water and a peach

9 AM I received my first compliment today. My mother, Judy works with me in our chiropractic clinic and she said that i am looking thinner.

10:42 AM Zrii chocolate shake made with 8 oz of water and 4 tablespoons of the product. 25 oz of water

I am feeling tired today. I could easily make an excuse and take a nap over my lunch break at the chiropractic office today. I will stay committed to what I have started and push myself.

12:20 PM The cool water of the pool at 24 hour fitness woke me right up. I swam 20 laps today. That is double the distance of where I started a week ago. I picked up the pace quite a bit on the 20th lap. The swim was 10 minutes. 5 minutes in the steam room.

1:11 PM back at my chiropractic office. I am eating a handful of almonds, 25 oz of water, chicken (about the size of my fist, this is the left over chicken from yesterday.) broccoli and brown rice.

As I drink my water, I am proud that I pushed myself to go to the gym to swim today. If I had chosen to nap instead it would have given me temporary happiness. The sense of accomplishment is a much more powerful feeling and the rewards from my positive actions will be long term. We are all given multiple opportunities everyday to make choices. The way we decide can either have a positive or a negative impact on our finances, our health and/or our happiness.

3:30 PM 4 oz Knudson’s on the go low fat cottage cheese, banana and 25 oz of water

7:30 PM Chicken and Green Bean stir fry & 10 oz of water

9:30 PM OK I had a tremendous sweet tooth. This is what I did to satisfy that urge. Zrii Vanilla meal replacement (4 scoops), a banana, a handful of blueberries mixed in a blender with 8 oz of water. Oh man did that taste great. Obviously more calories than I should be consuming this late at night but, it was fruit and it is way better than eating a sugary snack, cookies or ice cream.

10:30 PM 3 oz of Zrii

7/25/2009 Day 9

6:45 AM wake up. The yoga studio doesn’t have the 5:45 AM class on the weekends. They have an 8 AM class but I will be attending a Michael Bernoff seminar at 9:30 AM this morning.

7 AM off to 24 hour fitness

7:15 AM I am at the gym and I consume 16.9 oz of water while there.

20 minutes on the treadmill walk/run I burned 145 calories, moved at an average speed of 4.3 MPH and went a distance of 1.47 miles. This is quite a bit better than the last time on the treadmill on day 7. I can feel my cardiovascular endurance improving dramatically compared to when I was running with my son Chandler the first 2 days of the transformation. I know I have a tremendous amount of room for improvement but to just see what I have accomplished in 9 days is great.

I think about all of the people who are out of shape, who get winded just walking etc. I believe many are on this path. I was on this path. This is the path that leads so many to avoidable ailments like heart disease. 9 days has been a small investment in my future health and I am so happy to be on this road. The destination can be a never-ending commitment to small improvements in health. We can all continue to improve our diet, posture, balance, peace, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance & muscular strength by making constant little changes in our lifestyle. It’s all about making our health a priority.

I have found a way to to start taking care of myself and yet still have plenty of time to spend quality time with my family, run a successful chiropractic practice & build a big Zrii distributorship. It has taken some little shifting of behaviors to accomplish this.

A couple of these is waking up earlier so that I may attend yoga and swimming laps on my lunch hour.

It’s amazing how many people have so many excuses to not do something positive in their life. When I hear of people that complain of their health or their finances I want to help them. Often times, they see that I am offering a viable opportunity to help with both simultaneously but they make the excuse that they don’t have time. This is an excuse to keep people in their comfort zone. Would I rather sleep an hour later and not go to yoga? Would I rather go out with friends to lunch and eat some fun food like Pizza than swim laps? Would I rather watch television than build my Zrii business? The only thing that a “yes” answer will give to any of these questions is temporary satisfaction. Financial freedom and health will offer a lifetime of happiness.

“Successful people do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do, and that often means living outside the limits of one’s comfort zone.” Jeff Olson

8:45 AM 3 oz of Zrii, 10 oz of water, 2 egg omelet (1 yolk) with yellow diced onions, 1 slice provolone cheese. 10 grapes (5 green and 5 concord)

9:03 AM We are off to the Michael Bernoff seminar

This was a great event. I learned so much. I received my second weight loss compliment. I participated on stage with Michael Bernoff. Later at dinner, my business partner and long time friend Vicki Mancuso said that when I was on stage she noticed that my face is looking thinner. That’s what I thought was really apparent in the 1 week pre and post pictures.

1:10 PM salad with turkey, swiss cheese tomato, mozzarella balls, vinaigrette dressing and 8 oz of water

7 PM a small sliced Italian beef salad at NYPD (New York Pizza Department) and 10 oz of water. I love this salad but I must admit. This was slight torture. Watching my friends and family members eat piping hot Pizza, garlic knots, spaghetti and meatballs was rough. I am a recovering carboholic. There is nothing that tastes better and is more satisfying to me than fresh bread out of the oven. When I consume breads, pizza, pasta, I feel an immediate sense of satisfaction but within 20-30 minutes I get real lethargic. When I eat these foods, I love it so much that I will eat very fast and eat too much. I made it out of the restaurant without cheating myself and my progress and I feel great.

9:34 PM 3 oz of Zrii, Chocolate Zrii meal replacement made with 8 oz of water. 10 oz of water

My goal is to eat 6 times per day with each meal 2 1/2- 3 hours apart. I would like those meals to have a small portion of a lean protein, a quality natural and not refined carbohydrate and healthy fats. I want to consume fruits, vegetables and almonds within these parameters.

Obviously today didn’t work out that way. One of the things that I learned at the Michael Bernoff presentation today was that there are many of us that procrastinate until we feel we can do something perfect or to wait for the perfect time. Life is always changing. We need to have the ability too quickly adapt. The idea for me is to do my best each day, strive for improvements and accept that everything doesn’t always work out perfectly to my plan.

What I gained from the Bernoff seminar is far more powerful than what I lost by missing a few meals. I will get right back track tomorrow.

11:00 PM I am off to bed

7/26/2009 Day 10

5:45 AM woke up before alarm.

6:30 AM 3 oz Zrii

I am still thinking about that shake I made 2 nights ago. I make it again. 8 oz of water, 1 banana, fistful of blueberries, crushed ice and 4 tablespoons of Zrii vanilla meal replacement. Stirred it all up in a blender. Tastes amazing.

8:45 AM 4 oz of cottage cheese, 10 assorted grapes and 10 oz of water. I would have waited until 9:30 to eat this meal but I have a yoga class at 10 AM today and I don’t want to go on a full stomach.

10:00 AM yoga class

I experienced something very bizarre in yoga today. I know some of you are going to read this and not believe it. I have had patients tell me over the years that sometimes when they do a detox or cleanse, they would sweat out impurities, toxins and heavy metals. I am drenched in sweat in yoga as is my towel. My towel smelled metallic today. I know that I am cleansing and detoxifying because of the Zrii products and yoga. If heavy metals are leaving my body, that is pretty exciting. Yoga was not as rough as Friday. I did feel a bit queasy even when i got home at 11:35 AM

11:40 Peach and cottage cheese. After a couple of bites of the peach, I felt the queasiness immediately go away. 10 oz of water.

12:43 PM off to Zrii presentation at McDowell Mountain Chiropractic

3:20 PM Cobb salad, not bacon or croutons with vinaigrette dressing. 10 oz of water

7 PM grilled vegetable salad (feta cheese, zucchini, squash, carrots) 10 oz of water

8:45 3 oz of Zrii, Zrii chocolate meal replacement, 10 oz of water
